By integrating 25 zero-emission buses equipped with state-of-the-art smart charging technology into its fleet, NYCSBUS has set a new standard for public transportation solutions. At the 2024 Power Players Awards ceremony in Coronado, California, The Mobility House, which played a pivotal role in the technical aspects of the project, graciously accepted the award. The collective effort included stellar contributions from the World Resources Institute, CALSTART, Bronx Community College, the New York League of Conservation Voters, and South Bronx Unite, all of whom worked in concert to realize this ambitious goal.
Technological Triumphs in Efficient Energy Utilization
The pioneering technical application of automated load management (ALM) technology allowed for a remarkable achievement—charging up to 17 buses at a previously power-limited site. This feat is particularly impressive, as the original power capacity would have only allowed for 7 buses, proving the ingenuity behind the ALM system.
