EV trailblazer Mullen Automotive has made headway in the clean vehicle sector by securing key environmental certifications for its Class 3 electric trucks in several US regions, including those regulated by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Fleet operators across CARB-regulated states, as well as in Washington DC, are now poised to benefit from substantial financial incentives when choosing Mullen for their electrification needs.

Stellar Progress in Mullen Automotive’s EV Journey

Mullen Automotive has journeyed through an eventful year, making waves by integrating with Bollinger Motors, acquiring ELMS, and enhancing its commercial EV portfolio. The Tunica, Mississippi facility has been particularly productive, rolling out not only electric trucks but also Class 1 electric vans, now in the delivery phase.

Overcoming Financial Obstacles

Despite showing ambition and growth in the commercial EV space, Mullen faced challenging obstacles including stock market compliance issues. However, through strategic stock splits and tenacity, Mullen has not only remained listed but has seen its stock value surge past previous thresholds.

Mullen’s Electric Trucks Hit a CARB Compliant Milestone

The Mullen THREE, an all-electric Class 3 truck, has recently joined the company’s Class 1 van in reaching dual CARB and EPA certification, a significant step that opens the door to sizable state-level incentives for electrifying commercial fleets. These certifications allow Mullen to market the THREE across all 50 states, with special benefits available in those 14 CARB-compliant states and D.C. The impressive $45,000 rebates, coupled with federal tax credits, can lead to substantial cost reductions for fleet operators.

Electric Trucks Ready to Charge Ahead

Anticipation for the THREE’s arrival has been mounting since last summer, and with current certifications and successful ONE van deliveries, the electric truck’s commercial launch appears to be just around the corner. For CEO David Michery, these developments signify a considerable acceleration in commercial sales and a bolstered appeal to firms looking to green their fleets.

Mullen’s rollercoaster year of 2023, marked by stock fluctuations and legal disputes, is now making way for a more stable footing in the commercial EV arena. As the sole provider of Class 1 electric vans at present, Mullen’s potential in the commercial EV space seems promising and well-supported by CARB’s incentives, a boon for fleet operators nationwide aiming to veer towards sustainability.
