Hyundai and Iveco Strengthen Alliance for Cutting-Edge Commercial EV Advancements

Hyundai and Iveco Group Deepen Partnership in Commercial EV Space

In the bustling cities of Turin and Seoul, two heavyweights in the automotive industry are joining forces with renewed commitment. The Hyundai Motor Company and the Iveco Group (listed as IVG on the stock exchange) are intensifying their collaboration, with a primary focus on innovating within the commercial vehicle arena.

Strategic Collaboration Aimed at Electrifying Heavy-Duty Trucks

With the ink drying on a freshly signed Letter of Intent (LOI), the alliance between Hyundai and Iveco is stronger than ever. This ambitious accord is particularly centered on revolutionizing electric heavy-duty truck solutions across Europe, including both battery electric and fuel cell electric models. Employing the cutting-edge tech and resources at their disposal, the two industry giants are poised to hasten the journey towards a cleaner, more sustainable future for transportation.

A Partnership Yielding Tangible Milestones

The partnership, initially forged in March 2022, has been nothing short of productive, yielding landmark achievements in a relatively short span. A standout moment occurred in September 2022 when the duo presented the trailblazing IVECO eDaily Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle at the prestigious IAA Transportation event in Hanover. But they didn’t stop there; October 2023 introduced the IVECO BUS E-WAY H2 at Busworld in Brussels, which caught many eyes. Furthermore, marking progress into 2023, February saw the twosome announce a pivotal supply agreement. This particular move heralds the coming of an IVECO-badged, all-electric light commercial vehicle tailored for European markets, built upon Hyundai’s formidable eLCV platform.

These strategic steps taken by Hyundai and Iveco reflect their dedication to leading the charge in sustainable commercial transportation, showcasing a synergy that promises to deliver a major impact on the industry’s electric vehicle offerings.
