In a significant industry movement, SK On, a battery manufacturer at the forefront of the electric vehicle arena, has established a seminal partnership with the famed automaker, Ferrari. Their collaboration has been formalized with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU), setting the stage for a union that promises to push the boundaries of cell technology.

Throughout the ceremony, which took place at SK Seorin Building in Seoul, notable figures including SK On CEO Lee Seok-hee, Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna, and their top executives came together, marking a day of commitment to future-driven advancements.

Deepening Technological Synergy

This MoU paves the way for a powerful exchange of expertise, facilitating joint efforts in research and development to pioneer innovative solutions. The two titans aim to transcend conventional limits by leveraging their distinguished knowledge pools within the electric and luxury vehicle domains.

A History of Powerful Integration

As the exclusive battery cell provider for Ferrari’s awe-inspiring auto creations, SK On has a longstanding relationship with the luxury car behemoth, dating back to 2019. This partnership has birthed electrifying results, including the showstopping SF90 Stradale and its convertible counterpart, the SF90 Spider—the first plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) in Ferrari’s legendary lineup. Additionally, SK On’s power sources invigorate the 296 GTB and the convertible 296 GTS, further expanding Ferrari’s electric frontier.

Revamping the Electric Vehicle Experience

SK On’s head, Lee Seok-hee, expresses exhilaration over their joint electric endeavor with Ferrari, highlighting the anticipated synergy that aims to redefine the realm of electric vehicles (EVs). “By marrying our collective expertise and technological prowess, we foresee a future where we deliver unparalleled new experiences and values to our customers,” he envisions.

Ferrari’s chief, Benedetto Vigna, echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the dynamism of the partnership. “Through our mutual efforts with SK On, we seek to conquer new territories and infuse our projects with the vigor of shared innovation,” he notes.

With shared visions and reinforced collaborative ties, SK On and Ferrari are setting a new standard for what’s possible in the evolution of EV technology, promising exhilarating developments on the horizon for automotive enthusiasts and environmental advocates alike.
