This facility will be at the forefront of producing specialized glass for crystalline-silicon (c-Si) PV, with an impressive production capacity of 5 to 6 gigawatts (GW) annually. An exciting journey awaits as construction is slated to begin this year, with the plant anticipated to be fully operational by 2026, creating over 600 new full-time positions.

Through a historic alliance, Qcells and SOLARCYCLE combine forces to bolster the domestic supply chain by repurposing materials like aluminum, silver, and silicon. Boasting a stellar recycling technology, SOLARCYCLE claims a remarkable 95% extraction efficiency of a solar module’s value, surpassing industry norms.

A Pioneering Achievement: Qcells’ U.S. Solar Manufacturing

Qcells’ facility in Dalton, Georgia, currently stands as the titan of silicon-based solar panel factories in the US, with an anticipated production capacity of 8.4 GW. A pioneer in energy production, Qcells was the first to erect a solar panel factory following the Inflation Reduction Act, with its expansion marking the largest investment in clean energy production in the US.

Building a Sustainable Legacy in Georgia

January 2023 heralded Qcells’ commitment to over $2.5 billion in investment towards establishing the US’s first complete solar supply chain, ushering in a new era of clean energy manufacturing.
