Tesla (TSLA) has recently unveiled a new service on its online store – OEM vehicle wraps for the Model 3 electric sedan and Model Y SUV.
However, for now, the OEM Tesla Model Y and Model 3 wraps are exclusively available at the West Covina and Carlsbad Tesla Service Centers located in California.
Customization Options and Pricing
Customers can choose from seven pre-defined colors for the Model 3/Y wraps. Depending on the selected color, the wraps are priced between $7,500 and $8,000, which covers both the cost of materials and installation.
Here is the list of available Model Y/3 wrap colors and their corresponding costs:
- Glacier Blue: A favorite among many, reminiscent of the early Model 3 prototypes and discontinued Silver color.
- Forest Green: An alternative option that offers a unique touch.
- Crimson Red: A fiery red choice for those who desire a vibrant Tesla, albeit at a premium price of $2,000 for Red Multi-Coat and $8,000 for the wrap.
Tesla Official Wraps and Future Possibilities
Tesla’s official parts and accessories shop describes the wraps as a self-healing urethane-based film that safeguards the vehicle’s paint from chips, scratches, and swirling.
Please note that these wraps are exclusively available for 2023+ Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, and customers must be using the Tesla app version 4.23.0 or newer to make a purchase.
Tesla initially introduced this service in China back in 2020 and is currently testing its popularity in select service centers in California. If successful, the company may expand the availability of wraps to other regions in North America.
In the coming months, as the Tesla Cybertruck hits the road and its online configurator launches, it is highly likely that the company will offer official wraps for its highly-anticipated electric pickup truck.
